These are possible system milestones, not a route every family must follow.
PSLE
The Primary School Leaving Examination used for students already in Singapore’s local system. It is not the usual first admission route for an overseas student.
SEC
From 2027, the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate replaces the former N(A), N(T) and O-Level certificates.
JC / MI · Poly · ITE
JC and MI commonly lead towards A-Levels or IB and university; polytechnics focus on applied diplomas; ITE focuses on vocational and technical education.
IGCSE · IB
IGCSE is common in the secondary years at international schools. IB is an international curriculum framework, with the Diploma Programme generally serving ages 16–19.
SAT · Undergraduate · Postgraduate
SAT may support some undergraduate applications; it is not a degree. Undergraduate, master’s and doctoral study are the higher-education stages.
